Passports

We prepare passport applications for adults and children, including emergency passports when you need to travel urgently. We check the documents Home Affairs asks for, which for children includes the details of both parents, and book the appointment for you.

Who it is for

  • Adults applying for a new passport or renewing an expired one
  • Parents applying for a child's passport
  • Students applying for a passport
  • Travellers who need an emergency passport

Documents usually needed

  • Your Smart ID card or green ID book
  • Your current or expired passport, if you have one
  • For a minor: an unabridged birth certificate showing both parents
  • For a minor: both parents' IDs, and consent from both parents
  • For a minor with one parent absent: the supporting documents Home Affairs requires (we tell you which)

Children's passports have the strictest document rules. We check them before your appointment so the application is not turned away.

How it works

  1. 1Choose the adult or minor/student application form, or message us on WhatsApp.
  2. 2We check your documents and parental consent where needed.
  3. 3We book your appointment at a Home Affairs bank branch or office.
  4. 4You (and your child, where required) attend for photo and fingerprints.
  5. 5We keep you updated until the passport is ready to collect.

An emergency passport is issued for a limited period and for urgent travel. Ask us whether it suits your trip.

Home Affairs sets processing times. We cannot shorten them, but we make sure nothing in your application causes a delay.

Common questions

Do I still need to go to Home Affairs or a bank in person?

Yes, for Smart ID cards and passports you must attend once in person so your photo and fingerprints can be captured. We book that appointment at a Home Affairs bank branch for you and make sure your documents are ready before you go.

Can you help with a passport for my child?

Yes. A minor's passport usually needs the child's unabridged birth certificate, both parents' IDs and both parents' consent. Use the Minor / Student application form and we will check everything before the appointment.

What is an unabridged birth certificate?

An unabridged birth certificate is the full version of the record, including both parents' details. It is commonly required for a child's passport, many visas, emigration and foreign citizenship applications.

How long does an application take?

Home Affairs sets the processing time and we cannot shorten it. What we control is preparation: your application is checked before submission so it is not delayed by missing documents, and you hear from us at least every 3 working days.

Ready when you are.
